Frequently Asked

How far in advance do you typically book?

01.

We photograph a limited number of weddings each year and our schedule fills up very quickly. We typically start booking a year to a year and a half in advance.

How would you describe your photography style?

02.

A wedding is a story unfolding in real time, and we are there to document it authentically. Our approach is rooted in photojournalism, capturing the raw emotions and unscripted moments that make your day unique. While most of our work is documentary-style, we also dedicate time to portraits—blending photojournalism with a modern, dramatic editorial touch.

How long after my wedding will I have to wait to receive my pictures?

03.

These time frames fluctuate based on our current work load but I can give you a general sense of timing. We provide a sneak peek shortly after your wedding and the remaining full gallery is ready about ten weeks from your event.

Will you have a second shooter or an assistant?

04.

At every wedding we have a main photographer and a second shooter. We often have a non-shooting assistant with us as well to carry our bags and prep our equipment. This allows us to prioritize our time with our couples.

Do you have backup equipment?

05.

Yes! We come well equipped with multiple camera bodies and backup camera lenses. We are well prepared so that if there is a malfunction with our equipment, we will not miss a beat.

Do you travel to other cities or countries to photograph?

06.

We love to travel and outside of weddings in DC, Virginia, and Maryland, we have worked in England, New York, and Jamaica to name a few. Send us an email and we would be happy to talk to you about your destination wedding.

What is a boudoir session?

07.

boudoir (bu : dwa) - This is a French word meaning bedroom or private sitting room.

To me, boudoir sessions are about feeling beautiful in an intimate, empowering setting. Some clients choose to be fully clothed, others wear lingerie, and some embrace posing nude. These sessions often take place in a hotel suite or the comfort of your home—but in the end, the outfit and location don’t matter.

What truly matters is that you feel comfortable, confident, and celebrated as the radiant human you are.

I am interested in a boudoir session and would like to know more.

08.

Boudoir sessions are photographed exclusively by Cicely. She takes the utmost

care in making sure you are prepared, comfortable, and looking your best.

Most clients create a custom album which makes for a very unique and sizzling,

fine art gift. You can surprise your main squeeze or better yet, you can do it for yourself.

You don’t need a reason. You deserve it.
