House engagement sessions are one of a kind and I really wish more people would do these. Hannah and Sam are deeply tied to Baltimore and they love their neighborhood as well as downtown Baltimore. We did part of their session in their home and part of their session in the Mount Vernon Place area near the Washington Monument. For my DC peeps, yes, Baltimore has a Washington Monument too, similar in shape but different than the DC version. 🙂 Two of my favorite downtown Baltimore wedding venues are in the Mount Vernon area. If you are looking for a gorgeous venue, look no further than the Peabody Library or the Walter’s Art Museum. Both are walkable from the Baltimore Washington Monument.
I get this question all the time, “What is your favorite place to do an engagement session?” I usually respond with something like, “My favorite place for an engagement session is somewhere special to the two of you.” While that is accurate, I’ve found that one of my favorite locations for an engagement session is inside of my clients’ home. House engagement sessions are one of a kind. Someone’s home tells you so much about them. You can see their style and you get a glimpse into what life is like on the daily for them. I have found that people in the DMV are super proud of where they live, DC proper, downtown Baltimore, etc. and all of these elements together makes for a very powerful session. So while I do still hold to, “whatever is special to my couple becomes the best place to shoot”, I feel like, more often than not, someone’s home fits that profile just perfectly.
While house engagement sessions are one of a kind and are truly one of my favorites, you can view other cool engagement sessions here or you can see some of my top favorites on my website here. Hannah and Sam’s wedding was published in Baltimore Weddings where they did a stellar job documenting their big day. You can also see my blog post on this wedding here.
