Cloisters Castle Wedding | Baltimore, Maryland | Hannah & Sam

This was a gorgeous mid-May wedding at the Cloisters Castle. We are excited to announce that this wedding was recently published in Baltimore Weddings. Thank you for the feature Baltimore Weddings! They really did an excellent job summarizing the day.

Client Inspiration

One of the first things I did when planning my wedding was find a dress. Due to my experiences, I can see how Hannah was able use her dress as a starting point for the entire wedding design. When Hannah purchased her Vera Wang Fall 2019 collection “Marthe” gown, it became the impetus for the look and feel of her wedding. Her dress has classical period vibes of King Louis XIV in Versailles. Hannah decided to juxtapose this bold dress with some softer elements. LynnAaron of Nouvelle Weddings was able to help Hannah bring this idea to life.

Planner Perspective

LynnAaron on style:

“From the day I met Hannah, she always described her style as modern, classic, minimalist, and curated with clean edges. I really wanted to bring that into the wedding design. We achieved that by bringing in different elements like the velvet linens, hemstitched napkins, tortoise and gold flatware, and keeping the font on all of the paper super clean and crisp! This elevated event had a warm and romantic feel with the flowers and cafe lights.”

When I first walked into the bridal suite at the Four Seasons Baltimore, I knew this was going to be a killer wedding. Hannah was up for anything and excited to try any idea I threw at her. Trusting your photographer is so important and we totally have that bond. As a result of Hannah’s trust and enthusiasm, we ended up shooting so many gorgeous portraits. A wedding is structured so that the majority of the day is photojournalism. While the photojournalism at a wedding is incredibly meaningful to me, the icing on the cake is creating unique and dramatic portraits for my clients.

The Sam and his groomsmen began their day at his and Hannah’s Baltimore home. The day began very relaxed for the guys and my second shooter was really able to capture the chill atmosphere. Finally, after shots and shenanigans with the pups, the boys headed to the Cloisters Castle.

Something Memorable

One of the most unique details was the wrap around Hannah’s bouquet. She took a piece of her mother’s wedding gown and had it fashioned to wrap the bottom of her bouquet (shown below). Hannah’s bouquet wrap was my favorite detail of the day because it was not only unique, but also sentimental. It literally looked like a corset for the bouquet. What a great keepsake to have for years to come.
